Data Analyst Internship — Losinger Marazzi AG, Zürich, Switzerland · March to September 2026

Snowflake · SQL · Power BI

Context

During my end-of-studies internship in the Finance department of Losinger Marazzi AG, I was tasked with building the department’s financial reporting from the ground up. Before my arrival, there were few to no automated dashboards: reporting relied on manual, time-consuming processes, which made it hard to get a clear, up-to-date view of the department’s financial activity.

Problem

The department needed reliable, self-service dashboards that decision-makers could consult on their own, without waiting for a manually prepared report. The challenge was twofold: consolidating data scattered across several source systems (SAP, Salesforce) into a single coherent model, and designing dashboards clear enough to be used directly at executive level.

Approach

I extracted and modeled data from Snowflake using SQL, cleaning and transforming raw datasets into analysis-ready tables. Working closely with the finance team to understand their needs, I then designed and built a set of interactive Power BI dashboards covering financial forecasting, rental billing, and internal cost tracking.

Beyond the technical work, a large part of the internship involved translating business questions into data models — deciding which indicators mattered, how to structure them, and how to present them so that non-technical stakeholders could act on them.

Result

The dashboards were deployed to production and are now used by the CFO, branch managers, and the executive committee to support financial decision-making. What used to require manual reporting is now available at a glance, updated automatically from the source data.

This internship was my first hands-on experience taking a data project from raw sources all the way to a production tool used by real stakeholders — and it confirmed my interest in a career in data analysis and business intelligence.
